Test Manager
Role
Our client is an international IT company, which provides cashless payment solutions to clients round the globe. We are searching for a Test Manager, who will overall lead QA department and ensure proper utilization and managing forecast of resources together with line management of team members. Major task will also be in proper communication with other departments – setting up and managing processes between these departments. Since QA is also customer facing department, there is also expectations to provide statuses and managing expectations with customer representatives.
Job details:
- Lead the definition of individual test strategies, processes and procedures. To liaise closely with Business Analysts and project / programme management personnel to ensure testing is robust and comprehensive
- Manage end-to-end testing activities, including estimating, definition of detailed delivery schedules, testing milestones and dependencies, acceptance criteria, quality criteria, management of sub-contractors / partners
- Ensure sufficient resource and skill levels are forecast and in place. To ensure staff are equipped and fully briefed about testing requirements which will include operational personnel for performance testing/UAT
- Manage testing delivery against the agreed plan and initiate remedial action (or escalation), when required. To ensure the smooth transition from testing into ongoing support and delivery
- Ensure the testing methodology is robustly followed, particularly with regard to planning, control, reporting, documentation, quality, risk analysis and management and change control
- Ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction throughout the testing activities acting as a primary contact point for customers (particularly where testing is taking place on customer sites). This includes internal and external customers
- Ensure all testing stakeholders are identified and sufficiently informed and involved during all stages of the testing activity. To ensure each individual stakeholder provides high levels of personal and public support to the testing activity
- Participate in sales campaigns, particularly leading the demonstration of our testing credentials and capability to potential clients
- Ensure appropriate and timely reporting of all activities and escalation, within company and to the customer, where necessary
- Set and agree objectives for personnel in the team to ensure achievement of results and focus and motivation of staff. To monitor performance against targets on a regular basis; taking remedial action as necessary
- Provide input to the definition and update of the Companys overall testing methodology and standards
- Define testing tools and automation requirements. To create the business case for any investment in testing tools or automation
- Prioritize testing efforts to best effectuate corporate strategies in collaboration with project stakeholders.
Profile
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance
- Experience of creating and communicating test strategies for complex programmes (new deliveries or change)
- Experience of creating and maintaining automated robust test beds/scripts using appropriate tools to deliver cost reductions (commercial or resource/time savings)
- Knowledge of some of tools like JIRA, Confluence, Zephyr, Testlink would be an advantage
- Experience of managing mixed testing teams of employees, contractors and third parties some of whom may not be based in the same country/location
- Able to communicate technical issues to non-technical customers and ensure that updates on progress are delivered effectively
- The ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English
- A high level attention to detail with a good level of analysis and problem solving skills
- The ability to build effective relationships and to work as part of a team with a pro-active approach to ensuring delivery
