Purchasing Manager
Role
Our client is an international IT company in Prague, which provides payment solutions to clients across Europe. Purchasing Manager will be responsible for the effective delivery of procurement activities across the area to ensure effective purchasing of services such as Logistic services, IT equipment, consumables and/or other general business supplies to support the delivery of client services and effective business performance.
Job details:
- To identify and evaluate partners and suppliers to create a source of ready supply of Logistic services, IT equipment, consumables and other general business items. To negotiate framework pricing, commercial and contractual arrangements for future purchases
- To manage the ongoing evaluation of network of partners and suppliers and to lead activities to identify new suppliers to widen and complement sourcing arrangements
- To manage ongoing initiatives to drive down the cost of supply and improved commercial and contractual arrangements from network of partners and suppliers
- To take the lead purchasing role in complex pre-sales / bid support procurement activities; providing indicative pricing for third party supplied services, IT equipment, consumables, etc. To provide detailed specification information to ensure such purchases would be appropriate for our overall client solution and compliant with the customer’s requirements
- To ensure all requests for external procurement are checked and validated to ensure the purchase is correctly approved
- To assess and scope individual external procurement requirements to ensure all technical, delivery and commercial prerequisites are understood and properly specified. To liaise with the sales teams and operational managers to ensure the correct scoping of such purchases
- To ensure that all suppliers meet the Company’s supplier standards as detailed in the Code of Conduct including our positive ethical standards
- The position reports to Head of Purchasing in Germany.
Profile
- Bachelor degree in business, materials management, operations management, information management or related field
- Min. 1-3 years purchasing relevant experiences including contract negotiation skills
- Experience within Fintech, electronics hardware, telco or similar industry is a plus
- Purchasing knowledge includes sourcing of diverse categories and spend
- Working knowledge of project management principles and practices
- High level of IT literacy and competence, including experience of SAP and Advanced level Excel
- Ability to work on own as well as part of an international team managing own priorities effectively
- Able to adapt to and deal with change effectively
- Excellent communication, problem solving and analytical skills
- English language level B2 and above
- Travel willingness (ca. 10%).
